Gritting and Snow Clearing

Cardwell have been providing a private Gritting and Snow Clearing service for over 25 years. With depots in Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and Glasgow we cover Strathclyde, Ayrshire, and Lothians. We can provide a full site gritting service that includes paths and fire exits, skip areas etc or grit only your roads, car parks and yards.

In the early days most gritting was carried out using farm lime spreaders converted for salt in our own workshop, with snow clearing being taken care of using JCBs and wheeled loading shovels, how times have changed. We now use purpose built gritting bodies that are British Built. These are fitted onto 4x4 Truck Chassis that are equipped with rubber edged self leveling Snow Ploughs to prevent damage to road surfaces and markings.

Our Trucks are fiited with Vehicle Tracking and Communications  and the bodies are calibrated to ensure that only the required amount of Salt is spread on site to suit the conditions ensuring that costs are kept accurate.

Cardwell can provide either a dedicated Machine and Team to your site that will provide continuios cover in snow conditions or we can provide a "visit" service where by we will respond and Grit/Clear the site and then leave.

We will montior the weather conditions at each site using the Met Office and will respond to Grit when required, usually just before a shift change or you open for business.
